The Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, recently visited the chief prelates of the Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters to pay his respects. During this visit, he informed them about India's assistance for rescue and relief efforts in Sri Lanka, part of Operation Sagar Bandhu, in response to the damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah. He also requested their blessings for India’s ongoing support in the rehabilitation and recovery efforts throughout the country, as noted by the Indian High Commission in a post on X (formerly Twitter). Later, speaking to reporters, Santosh Jha highlighted India’s readiness to help Sri Lanka during this challenging time. “I updated them on the actions India has taken and plans to take in the coming weeks and months. I explained how we are collaborating, not just for immediate relief and rescue, but also for the next steps, which include rebuilding lives and supporting reconstruction and rehabilitation,” he stated.
