Venerable Induragare Dhammaratana Thero voiced strong concerns about the new education reforms, stating they could jeopardize both the future of Sri Lanka's youth and the current government. He made these comments during a Sangha Council meeting in Colombo today. This meeting, held at the Colombo Foundation Institute this afternoon (29), aimed to discuss the goals of the proposed reforms. Professor Dhammaratana Thero highlighted the importance of having more discussions, consulting with experts, and considering the insights of experienced administrators before implementing major changes. He cautioned that the proposed curriculum changes could lead to a significant crisis for the country. The Thero also remarked that proceeding with these reforms as planned would harm future generations and could spell disaster for the government, comparing it to trying to fit a round peg into a square hole.
