The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) issued a special gazette notification enforcing maximum retail prices for PET bottled drinking water, effective from April 1. The revised pricing is as follows: 500ml to 999ml PET bottles – Rs. 70 1 litre to 1.499 litres – Rs. 100 1.5 litres to 1.999 litres – Rs. 130 2 litres to 2.499 litres – Rs. 160 5 litres to 6.999 litres – Rs. 350 The CAA has strictly warned that manufacturers, packagers, traders and distributors must not sell bottled water exceeding these regulated prices.
