LNP – Nearly 7,000 buses added to transportation fleet today
The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) today said that nearly 7,000 buses have been augmented to operations today.
LPBOA Chairman Gemunu Wijerathne said that all town service buses are operational today.
The diesel required for the town service is received and there is an issue with getting fuel for inter-provincial and long-distance buses.
He said that a mechanism would be introduced today to receive fuel for long-distance run, including for the buses in the rural areas.
Meanwhile, the National Transport Commission (NTC) said that they will arrange mobile inspectors to check whether the buses are charging passengers more than the revised fares.
