Three people, including two women, were killed in a stabbing incident in the Kondeniya area of Sri Lanka's Mawanella Police Division, according to police reports. Initially, four people were taken to Mawanella Hospital after being attacked with a sharp object. Sadly, two women and one man later died from their injuries. The victims were identified as local residents, aged 52, 57, and 66. A 35-year-old woman who was also hurt in the attack is now receiving care at Mawanella Hospital. Police arrested a 33-year-old man from Kondeniya in connection with the stabbings. Investigations revealed that the attacks occurred at three different houses in the Kondeniya area, and the suspect is believed to be mentally unstable. The bodies of the deceased have been moved to the morgue at Mawanella Hospital. Mawanella Police are continuing to investigate the case.
