Five people, including two foreign women, were hurt in a van accident on the Southern Expressway. The crash happened near the 168-kilometer mark at about 4:00 p.m. today (15). The luxury van, which was carrying the foreign nationals, was headed from Mattala to Beliatta when it hit the back of a small lorry that was also going in the same direction. The injured individuals were taken to Tangalle Base Hospital by an ambulance from the Police Special Task Force that was working on the expressway. Investigations are ongoing.
