The Department of Meteorology has announced that an Easterly wave will lead to increased rain across Sri Lanka starting tomorrow, the 16th. Areas such as the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Uva, and Central provinces will experience several showers. Additionally, other regions may see rain or thunderstorms after 1:00 p.m. The weather department forecasts fairly strong winds, reaching speeds of 30-40 km/h, especially in the Eastern slopes of the central hills, as well as in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, along with Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts. In the early morning hours, some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central provinces, and the Galle and Matara districts might experience misty conditions. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of damage from sudden strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms.
