Two other wanted Sri Lankan suspects, who were arrested in Chennai, India, along with the Police Constable (PC) who aided in the escape attempt of notorious drug trafficker Nadun Chinthaka Wickremeratne alias “Harak Kata”

Sri Lanka Police has identified the suspect who carried out the shooting inside the No. 05 Magistrate’s Court within the Aluthkade Courts Complex this morning (19), which killed notorious drug trafficker and criminal gang leader Sanjeewa Kumara Samararathne alias “Ganemulla Sanjeewa”.

The notorious drug trafficker and organized criminal infamously known as “Ganemulla Sanjeewa”, who was shot at during the incident has passed away at the scene, the police confirmed.

Ravindu Sandeepa, the Police Constable (PC) who aided in the escape attempt of notorious drug trafficker Nadun Chinthaka Wickremeratne alias “Harak Kata” from CID custody and later fled the island, has been arrested in India along with four others.

Medical Administrator and Health and Mass Media Ministry Secretary Dr. Anil Jasinghe revealed today that there was an ongoing kidney racket in the country by several individuals from India selling kidneys for up to Rs. 3 million.

The Meteorology Department says that the Heat Index, the temperature felt on human body, is expected to increase up to ‘Caution Level’ tomorrow (19) in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, Western, and Southern Provinces and in Monaragala and Ratnapura districts.
