Gold prices in Sri Lanka went up by about Rs. 3,000 today due to a big rise in global gold prices. As of today, October 12, the world price for gold has grown by USD 4,266. Compared to yesterday, October 11, the price of a 22-carat gold sovereign in the Colombo Pettah gold market is now Rs. 312,000. Additionally, the cost of a 24-carat gold sovereign has increased from Rs. 336,000 yesterday to Rs. 339,000, according to traders.
