The Attorney General told the Supreme Court today (12) that the Cabinet of Ministers has given the green light for women to be hired for all roles in Sri Lanka Railways (SLR). During a court session about a Fundamental Rights petition filed by two women, a State Counsel representing the Attorney General shared this news, as reported by Ada Derana. The petition was against a Gazette notification that had previously barred women from applying for the Railway Station Master position in the Railway Department.
