President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will leave for Japan on September 27 for a four-day official visit, at the invitation of the Japanese Government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. During the visit, President Dissanayake is scheduled to meet His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and hold summit-level talks with the Japanese Prime Minister on a wide range of bilateral and regional issues. The President will also deliver an address at a Business Forum in Tokyo, attended by senior Japanese business leaders and investors, where discussions will centre on new economic opportunities in Sri Lanka. In addition, President Dissanayake will take part in EXPO 2025 Osaka as a Guest of the Government of Japan, coinciding with Sri Lanka Day at the Expo. The event is expected to showcase the island’s cultural heritage and economic potential before a global audience. The President will also meet with members of the Sri Lankan expatriate community in Japan during his stay from September 27 to 30.
