MPs in both government and the opposition exhibited their sporting skills at an indoor sports programme held in the Parliamentary complex for the fifth year in succession recently.
The event was organized by Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Thilakaratne and MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha together with Serjeant-at-Arms Kushan Jayaratne.
SLPP MP D.V. Chanaka emerged victorious at the snooker tournament while SJB MP Rohana Bandara was runner up. MP Bandara excelled in pool as well.
Table Tennis doubles was won by Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe and MP Nilanthi Kottachchi. Ms. Kottachchi emerged victorious at Table Tennis Singles while SJB MP Chamindrani Kiriella was the runner up. Table Tennis Men’s Singles was won by MPP MP Waruna Liyanage.
MP Ramanthan Aruchuna emerged winner of the Chess tournament while SJB MP Rohana Bandara was the runner up.
MP Prageeth Maduranga excelled in Carrom while Sports Minister Sunil Kumara was the runner up.
Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne and Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya were the chief guests.
