The Cabinet approved employment opportunities under South Koreaâs E-8 visa category, with recruitment exclusively handled by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE). Â
SLBFE Chairman Koshala Wickramasinghe said that no individual or private agency is authorised to offer E-8 visa jobs. He warned the public against paying intermediaries, as all recruitment will be conducted through the Bureau. Â
Speaking at an event where air tickets were presented to Sri Lankans securing E-9 visa jobs, Wickramasinghe explained that the E-8 visa is specifically for individuals with agricultural expertise. Only qualified candidates will be selected through the SLBFE, ensuring a transparent and regulated process. Â
âWe will not allow third-party agencies to exploit job seekers by charging high fees. The SLBFE will oversee recruitment at minimal costs,â he said. Â
To maintain fairness, the Bureau will soon announce recruitment guidelines and qualifications via media channels, allowing equal access to job opportunities.
