The Norochcholai Power Plant will be back in operation by Friday (14) and the power supply will return to normalcy, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) media spokesman Dhammika Wimalaratne said today.
He said the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is making every effort to bring back to operation the three power plants in Norochcholai earlier than that.
âWe have started the demand side management system. We will curtail power supply from today from 3.30 pm till 9.30 pm. We have devided the whole country into different zones and a certain area will have a maximum power cut of one and a half hour,â he said.
âOnce the Norochcholai Power Plant is back in operation, which we expect by the 14th, the power supply will come to normalcy. The CEB is making every effort to bring the three Norochcholai power plants back into operation much ealier,â he added.
The spokesman said the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has approved the power managment system up to tomorrow and that another official power cut schedule will be announced after tomorrrow.
