Four suspects, including a woman, have been arrested by Jaffna police in connection with the kidnapping of a youth from Ariyakulam and a financial fraud involving Rs. 8 million.Â
According to police, the boy had plans to travel to Europe for employment and was approached by a woman who promised to secure his passage within two weeks if he paid Rs. 8 million.Â
A few days later, the woman, along with three others, arrived at the youthâs home in a vehicle, abducted him and transferred money from his bank account to hers.Â
The suspects later abandoned the victim in a deserted area in Kopai.
Following an investigation, the suspects were arrested and the vehicle used in the crime has also been seized.
