The Attorney General has filed indictments against Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)Â Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa over the alleged misappropriation of Rs.70 million belonging to Krrish Company.
The indictments were filed before the Colombo High Court by the Attorney General, alleging the misappropriation of Rs. 70 million provided by the Indian real estate company Krrish Lanka Pvt. Ltd. for the development of rugby in Sri Lanka.
Namal Rajapaksa is currently out on bail concerning this incident. The initial investigations were conducted by the FCID, which subsequently filed a B report on the matter before the Colombo Fort Magistrateâs Court.
In 2015, Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe lodged a complaint alleging that the funds provided by Krish Company were misappropriated by the accused and not utilized for the intended purposes of the company.
