LNP – TRCSL urges public to buy phones with registered IMEI numbers

While implementing the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) Registration System, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) is urging the public to purchase only mobile phones with IMEI numbers registered with the Commission.

In an article posted on their official website, they stated that non-registered IMEI-enabled mobile devices will not be active on the Telecommunication Operators’ networks in the future.

However, this will not apply to IMEI-enabled mobile phones already connected to Telecommunication Operators’ networks before January 28.
