An island-wide traffic operation will be launched tomorrow to inspect passenger buses during the festive season, the Police Media Division said.
Police said the decision was taken on the instructions of the Acting IGP after considering the increasing road accidents during the past few days and to prevent road accidents during the festive season.
Police said passenger buses will be inspected for over speeding, reckless driving, driving under the influence of alcohol and buses unsuitable for passenger transport.
The public is requested to inform the police through hotlines 119 or 1927 of any complaints regarding traffic violations or WhatsApp videos of traffic violations to Divisional Traffic Officers in Charge.
