LNP – Higher priority for education, schools to follow systematic approach: Harini Amarasuriya

According to the new government policies, higher priority has been given to education, and school education should be implemented in a proper, systematic manner and according to a well-defined schedule, Education Minister Harini Amarasuriya said.

She made these remarks while assuming duties as the Minister of Education at the Ministry today.Â

Addressing the media, she said the need to create an environment where children can receive education happily is of importance. She also said that resolving the current issues in the education sector promptly is important and highlighted that everyone’s unwavering support is essential for achieving this goal.

“I am humbled and happy to assume a Ministerial position in a field as significant as education, and I fully understand the gravity of this responsibility,” she said. Â

She further said that she is committed to leading the current student population towards a stress-free education system that upholds student credibility and prepares them to become citizens capable of thriving in the coming renaissance era. Â

K.M.G.S.N. Kaluwewa also assumed duties as the Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education at the ‘Isurupaya’ Ministry premises.
