LNP – So called experienced persons collapsed the country for 76 years: NPP responds to Ranil

Responding to former President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s claim that the country will crash like the Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) bus, if experienced persons are not elected to Parliament, the National People’s Power (NPP) said people will no longer elect those so called experienced persons to power as they are the ones who bankrupted and collapsed the country for 76 years.

Speaking at an election rally in Badulla, NPP member Samantha Vidyaratne said the people will vote only for the NPP to form a people-friendly government.

“I heard Ranil saying the country must be handed over to experienced persons. The country will crash like the KDU bus if experienced persons are not elected to Parliament like the accident that occurred due to the driver’s fault. Yes, they were given the country for 76 years and they bankrupted and collapsed the country. People will never give power to so called experience drivers who collapsed and bankrupted the country,” he said.

While responding to a question during a forum held over the weekend at the Arcade Independence Square in Colombo, former President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the country will crash like the bus which toppled along the Dunhinda-Badulla Road if the people fail to elect experienced persons to Parliament.
