LNP – Maithripala files writ petition against magisterial inquiry relating Easter Sunday attacks

Former President Maithripala Sirisena today filed a writ petition in Court of Appeal challenging the magisterial inquiry and issuance of summons against him in connection with the Easter Sunday attack incidents.

On September 16, the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court issued a notice directing former President Maithripala Sirisena to appear in court on October 14 in connection with a private plaint filed relating to Easter Sunday attacks.
