The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said that with the heavy rainfall in the country, minor flood situations and situations of increasing water levels in several rivers have been reported, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said.
DMC Deputy Director and media spokesman Pradeep Kodippili said eight people from the Nawalapitiya area were rescued due to floods and another two people from the Ambagamuwa area in Kandy district based on the information received from the district DMC office.
The vehicular movement in the Diyagala area in Nuwara Eliya district on the Hatton-Colombo main road was restricted due to a minor land slide in the morning.
A flood situation was reported on the Deyiandara-Mulatiyana main road in the Matara district.
Meanwhile, vehicle movement on the Nawalapitiya and Hapugastalawa main roads was restricted due to a minor landslide.

The DMC has cautioned those who are living in the vulnerable areas to be extra vigilant and warned the motorists to be cautious as well when driving through those areas.
