Police said today that they will launch special operations in the Western Province from tomorrow to inspect those violating health guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Accordingly, the police will inspect the general public including those visiting public places, traveling in public transport and those traveling in vehicles to monitor whether they adhere to health guidelines and are wearing masks.
Police said it is observed that the directives issued by the Director General of Health Services such as wearing face masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands, were not being followed by the public.
Police said legal action will be taken against those who violate such health laws.
Therefore, the police urge the public to follow proper health guidelines and act in a safe manner.(
