Three suspects aboard a dinghy have been arrested with about 3.1 kg of Crystal Methamphetamine, known as ICE during an operation by the Navy in the seas off Sandbanks, Talaimannar today.
The street value of the seized contraband is believed to be worth more than Rs. 24 million.
A group of Navy personnel attached to SLNS Thammanna in the North Central Naval Command intercepted a suspicious dinghy in the seas off Sandbanks, Talaimannar this morning.
While searching the dinghy, the sailors managed to recover Crystal Methamphetamine concealed in it.
The contraband of drugs along with the three suspects and the dinghy used for this illegal act were taken into naval custody.
