LNP – Guests now allowed to visit inmates at prisons twice per week

Guests will be allowed to visit inmates at prisons twice a week now, the Prisons Department said today.

Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said that guests and relatives were earlier permitted to visit inmates only once per week due to the Covid-19.

Meanwhile, opportunity been given to the suspects to get a week’s worth of food and sanitary items from the prison canteen is still in effect
