Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga instructed the authorities to expedite the implementation of a special promotion programme targeting five major countries including India and Russia to attract more tourists to Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, these promotions are being carried out in France, Britain, Germany, India and Russia.
Accordingly, short and long term promotions will be organized in the coming months targeting tourists from those countries.
During a discussion held at the Ministry, Minister Ranatunga also instructed the Tourism Promotion Bureau to expedite promotions in Kazakhstan, Ukraine and the Middle East.
During the meeting, it was also decided to give wide publicity to Sri Lanka as a country that has successfully carried out Covid vaccination in these promotions.
