In the wake of the decision taken by Dr Ananda Wijewickrama to resign from the Intercollegiate Technical Committee of the Director General of Health Services, the Health Ministry today invited Dr Wijewickrama to reconsider his decision.
Addressing a news briefing, Deputy Director-General of Health Services Dr Hemantha Herath said today that it is better that Dr Wijewickrama would reconsider his decision.
âDr Wijewickrama has been one of the key medical professionals who immensely rendered his support and advise in the battle against COVID-19 pandemic in the country,â he pointed out.
âHis decision to step down would badly affect the way forward in terms of eliminating COVID-19,â Dr Herath underscored.
However, he said they would respect his decision as it is his personal choice.
