Business operations of at least 31 cities across the country have been suspended as of today while another 15 cities have suspended operations today due to the spread of COVID-19.
Accordingly, business operations in the areas under the Trincomalee Urban and Municipal Council, Kegalle, Chilaw, Ampara, Wennappuwa, Kekirawa,Monaragala, Divulapitiya, Deraniyagala, Orrgasmanghandiya, Wadduwa, Banduragoda, Rikillagaskada, have stopped.
In addition, business have also come to a standstill in Ambalangoda, Maradagahamula, Veyangoda, Dankotuwa, Serunuwara, Palapathwala, Ulpatha, Tangalle, Badulla, Balangoda, Walapane, Bandarawela, Embilipitiya, and Matale areas.
Shops in some cities have decided to close for a week, and in other cities for two weeks until further notice.

So do we need a government. Cardinal wants all shops to close on 21/08/21. To augment that with these closures one could anticipate the only option left is for entire closure to be enforced when in effect nothing more to close.
