Two special police teams have been deployed to investigate into the death of a 16-year-old girl while working at former Minister Rishad Bathiudeenâs residence, Public Security Minister Sarath Weerasekara said today.
He told Parliament that investigations were continuing and officials had visited the girlâs residence for further investigations.
âImmediate action will be taken against those responsible,â he said.
He said this while responding to questions raised by JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake and SJB MP Mano Ganeshan on the progress of the investigations into the incident.

It is not the number of teams that is important. Take action against the perpetrators of these dastardly crimes and take it very fast, or else this matter will also be swept under the carpet. First of all arrest the couple who are directly responsible for this horrendous crime. We do not want loose talk, but constructive action.
