The UNP-led alliance would not make the same mistakes it made during the last presidential election but would field a winning candidate this year, Minister Rajitha Senaratne said on Saturday.
Dr Senaratne addressing a public meeting in Kuliyapitiya said the candidate would be fielded from a rainbow alliance which would be led by the UNP.
âWe wish for a rainbow alliance and filed a winning horse as our candidate for the presidential elections. He will be made known at the right time. However, we will not make the same mistakes which we made during the last presidential election by fielding President Maithripala Sirisena,â he said.
