The tussle for the candidature even within the same party has currently become a common scenario as is evident in the run-up to the Presidential polls unlike ever before in our history. In these two instances, pictures show (left) potential contenders of the United National Party Speaker Karu Jayasuriya and Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa seated beside a seat reserved for President Maithripala Sirisena at a function held in the BMICH yesterday, whilst in the other, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa is seen showing the top seat to his brother cum party leader Mahinda Rajapaksa at a function held in Kingsbury on Tuesday.
