A foreign involvement in local politics?

A friendly foreign country is said to have donated 10,000 battery-operated multi-colour light bulbs to illuminate the venue of a political meeting of the main party held with much fanfare the other day. Â

The illuminations had given a carnival atmosphere to the event.

The foreign government in question had also instructed its local representatives to provide whatever assistance necessary for the political party to hold public meetings in the country, they say.
