Dialog partners to launch per day motor insurance starting from Rs.125

The launch of Sri Lanka’s first Per Day Motor Insurance (L-R) Deepthi Lokuarachchi, Managing Director and CEO, HNB General Insurance, Vipula Dharmapala, CEO, Insureme.lk, Dr. Rainer Deutschmann, Group Chief Operating Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC, Dr. Sanjeev Jha, Managing Director and CEO, Fairfirst Insurance and Deepal Abeysekera, CEO, People’s Insurance.

Insureme.lk, Sri Lanka’s first online platform for comparing insurance policies, has launched Per Day Motor Insurance in partnership with Dialog Axiata PLC and licensed insurance providers Fairfirst Insurance Ltd, HNB General Insurance Ltd. and People’s Insurance PLC, to facilitate an affordable and innovative insurance scheme that offers per day full insurance covers for all Sri Lankans.

Starting from as low as Rs. 125 (including tax) per day and based on the type of vehicle and value of vehicle insured, this cover is tailored for customers looking to purchase a full insurance plan for daily, weekly or monthly (up to 90 days) purposes, as per the customer’s requirements. Exclusively accessible via the Insureme mobile app, users are required to enter details such as the estimated market value of the vehicle, vehicle type, registration status, registered owner details such as name and National Identity Card (NIC) number and existing third-party insurance details. Once all required details are submitted, users are given the opportunity to compare available policies, taking into consideration pricing and benefits, and selecting a policy that best suits their individual needs. Upon successful payment, the subscriber will receive a policy card via the mobile app and policy document via e-mail. The Insureme app also grants customers the option of making their premium payments via credit card, debit card or Genie, based on their preference.

Commenting on this breakthrough offering, Dr. Rainer Deutschmann, Group Chief Operating Officer, Dialog Axiata PLC said, “The launch of this insurance plan follows clearly identified gaps in the market such as the fact that a vast majority of Sri Lankan drivers do not have full insurance, mainly due to the complex process of obtaining a full insurance cover and the high costs involved. Recognising this, it was imperative for us to create an offering that is both easily accessible and also affordable to all Sri Lankans.”

Vipula Dharmapala, CEO, Insureme.lk said, “We are absolutely delighted to introduce Per Day Motor Insurance with the support of our partners. This novel concept in insurance which is practiced only in a few developed western countries is now available in Sri Lanka for the very first time. We have no doubt that Per Day Motor Insurance will revolutionise the motor insurance market, and with the attractive terms offered by this concept without compromising on coverage, every proud vehicle owner can now afford to purchase full insurance for their vehicle.”

This latest innovative motor insurance plan follows Dialog’s already extensive portfolio of Per Day Insurance offerings with multiple partners, i.e. the Life Cover, the Accident Cover and the Hospitalisation Cover. To subscribe to Per Day Motor Insurance or for more information, customers may simply download the Insureme mobile app, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
