MR should focus on a SLFP win- Muthuhettigamage

Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigamage says Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa should first focus on seeing the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to victory over other political parties.

Speaking to media in Kandy the Deputy Minister said he will support Former President Rajapaksa if he works with the SLFP.

Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigamage noted that Mahinda Rajapaksa has the support of the SLFP however stressed that he should reciprocate the favour.

He said the alliance led by SLFP worked hard to elect Mahinda Rajapaksa as President twice and therefore called on the former President to support the party.

Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigamage said, “He should support the United People’s Freedom Alliance. If he does not support us he is being deceitful, it’s a shortcoming and it is inappropriate. He should decide. The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna has enlarged a picture of him and he is also on posters either with or without his knowledge. We strongly believe this is unfavourable for him.”
