Debt will be paid off -Prime Minister

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the government will uplift the livelihoods of the people while paying off the country’s debt.

Speaking at a function in Puttalam today the Premier said the economy was in shambles when the good governance government took over.

The Prime Minister added the then government could not maintain the country’s economy with an insufficient income to pay off the loans.

Premier Wickremesinghe noted by 2018 and 2019 a large amount in loans had to be paid off.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the UPFA government called for an early election at the time that the economy had faltered.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of streamlining the taxes.

Premier Wickremesinghe said the government is at a point where the country’s income can be increased.
