UNP Ministers seek Ravi’s removal Group to make request from PM

A group of senior United National Party (UNP) Ministers have decided to make an official request to PM Ranil Wickremesinghe that former Minister Ravi Karunanayake should be removed from his current party portfolio as Deputy Leader forthwith, informed sources said.

They stated that these Ministers are set to point out to the PM that Karunanayake’s name being linked to the controversial CB Treasury Bonds scam would be harmful not only to the UNP, but to the existence of the current regime as well.

These Ministers are also set to inform the party…… leader that despite his resignation from his ministerial post, Karunanayake continues to poke his fingers in unwanted incidents, thus placing the party in an awkward position, hence it is important to take a firm stance against the former minister.
