Flexible work hours project in Battaramulla from today
The pilot project introducing flexible working hours for state officers in Battaramulla aimed as a solution to the traffic congestion in Colombo in the morning will commence today.
Accordingly the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development said officers employed at state institutions in Battaramulla can report to work between 7:30 to 9:15 in the morning.
The state officers can sign out of work between 3:15 to 5:30pm depending on their time of arrival.
Accordingly, the government has made it mandatory for public servants to remain in offices between 9.15am and 3.15pm.
Meanwhile, on a previous occasion a spokesperson of the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development noted that the government will also introduce flexible working hours for private sector if the project was deemed successful.
