The launching ceremony of the book Janadhipathi Thaththa, which contains a wonderful story of an extremely ordinary man, who was born to a farming family, becoming the President of the country, through the eyes of his daughter will be held at 7:30 a.m. on 15 September at the BMICH. This book is based on the personal experiences witnessed by the Presidentâs eldest daughter during the difficult political journey of Maithripala Sirisena, who began as a local political activist and finally became the President of Sri Lanka.
This endeavour will be marked in the history as the first-ever biography written by a daughter of a President about her fatherâs political journey.
The book reveals many unexpected challenges faced by President Sirisena from the beginning of his political life. In this book, Chathurika Sirisena explains how they faced those challenges as a family.
This will be the true story about the courageous farmer generation which shifted from Siyane Korale to Rajarata, finding a new life. The book includes the incident of terrorist attack on her father and untold stories of the 2015 Presidential Election battle. This has been written not with any political point of view, but as an interesting novel.
She has unveiled the influence on the family due to political incidents from the eras of Sirimavo Bandaranaike and other political giants. However, those incidents have not diminished the prime interest of the main story.
Chathurika Sirisena, the elder daughter of President Sirisena is a graduate in Information Technology and performing people-friendly activities as a social activist.
