Police Spokesman speaks out on controversial video of IGP

Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara says that false information is being spread with regard to a video, involving the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and another individual, which initially appeared on social media websites.

He made these comments while responding to a question from a journalist at the Cabinet decision press briefing held on Wednesday (16), regarding the video which is doing the rounds on Facebook and certain websites.

The Police Spokesman said that an investigation has been launched with regard to the video in question and that the necessary future course of action would be initiated on the matter under civil law.
