President to attend 72nd UN General Assembly session in USA

President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to visit the United States of America in an official capacity to attend the United Nations General Assembly session.

The 72nd session will be held from September 12 till 25. President Sirisena is due to attend the session on September 19.

This will mark the third time President Sirisena attends the UN General Assembly session, since assuming duties as the President of Sri Lanka.

All heads of state of the UN are due to attend the General Assembly session.

The President has reportedly arranged to hold bilateral discussions with several heads of state in line with said visit to the USA.
