Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Ryan Jayalath and 04 other members of the Medical Faculty Students Action Committee for not appearing in court for their hearing.
The order was issued by Fort Magistrate Ms.Lanka Jayaratne earlier on today.
It has been reported that The Fort Magistrate court had already issued warrants of arrest for Ryan Jayalath, who is the convener of the Medical Faculty Students Action Committee and 04 other members earlier on this week. The warrants were issued to convict the defendants for disturbing the peace. The 05 students were to be tried for conducting protests in a disruptive manner to the public.
The Magistrate questioned the Kollupitiya Police, requesting them to immediately bring the perpetrators into custody and consequently to court to conduct a formal hearing.
