Customs Narcotics staff members apprehended 4 Sri Lankan passengers attempting to smuggle 116 Kg of âwalla pattaâ worth 12 million Rupees at the Bandaranaike International Airport last night (4)
The suspects were bound to Dubai via India on flight number 9W252. The four suspects aged 60, 45, 35 and 21 were attempting to smuggle the narcotics in their checked-in luggage.
The goods were forfeited and Rs.700,000 was imposed on each amounting to a total of Rs.28,000,000 by the customs department.
