Minister of Ports and Shipping, Mahinda Samarasighe stated that the President had decided to give the cabinet ministers a period of one week to examine the amendments made to the Hambantota Port agreement.
The statements were brought out during a media being held today (01), by the Sri Lankan Freedom Party.
Samarasinghe further added that the initial amendments made to the agreement included the President being allowed to further amend the document and added that all parties involved in the agreement will be allocated under the Ministry of Finance. He went on to say that the third clause will be added by the Attorney Generalâs department.
The Minister concluded his statements by stating that the cabinet ministers will be allowed a week to examine the amendments, where the amended agreement will be presented in parliament next Tuesday (8).
