President and petroleum trade unions to convene for special discussion
A special meeting between the President and representatives of petroleum trade unions is scheduled to take place today (01).
Co-convener of the Petroleum Trade Unions Collective, D. J. Rajakaruna stated that the meeting would be held at the Presidential Secretariat Office at 11.00 am.
He proceeded to state that the future course of action to be taken by the trade unions would be decided following the discussion.
Meanwhile, the Kolonnawa terminal of the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals LTD (CPSTL) reported that false rumours about a petroleum strike were being circulated among the public.
Its Managing Director Sanjeewa Wijeratne accordingly confirmed that the fuel supply was being conducted without interruptions of any sorts, and urged the public to not fall prey to such baseless rumours.
