A suspect has been arrested for the possession of 18 kilograms of Kerala cannabis near the Shanthi Viharaya on the Jaliyagoda road in Kesbewa.
Acting on information received, Piliyandala Police stopped and searched a car which was transporting 2kg and 250g of Kerala cannabis packed in two parcels and concealed within the vehicle.
Based on information uncovered through the interrogation of the individual driving the car, police seized another 13kg 500g of Kerala cannabis discovered inside a house in Polgasowita.
The 41-year-old suspect is to be produced at the Kesbewa Magistrateâs Court.
