General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Nidahas Sangamaye (Port Authority), stated that port workers are quite pleased with the solutions they received to the problems highlighted.
Addressing a media briefing held today (28), the secretary of the Union stated that proceedings similar to that at the Colombo Port are happening at the Hambantota Port as well.
Furthermore, he stated that the process of re-shipping vehicles will take place at the Hambantota port as cargo ships were willing to dock at the port, like they did in Colombo.
Chairman of the union, Kapila Rajapakse stated that if the workers at the Colombo Port were to have all their wishes granted, they would like the necessary authorities to help with the development of the Hambantota Port.
