The Disaster Management Center (DMC) advises those living in landslide prone areas in Kandy, Kegalle, Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura districts to stay alert due to the heavy rainfall experienced in those areas.
The DMC urges people living in such area to evacuate immediately if there are signs of landslides.
Kandy and Nuwara Eliya is reportedly experiencing heavy rainfall this morning especially in the Ambagamakorale area.
The DMC said that people living in areas that receive rainfall of over 100mm should be extra cautious.
