Kyle Abeysinghe created history by becoming the first ever Sri Lankan swimmer to win two Commonwealth Junior Championship Swimming Medals when he clinched his second Silver at the Commonwealth Youth Games being held in Bahamas.
Abeysinghe finished second in the Boys 50m Freestyle final with a time of 23.38. He secured his first medal on Saturday in the 100M Freestyle event.
So far Sri Lanka has only won two Silvers and both were clinched by Kyle Abeysinghe. Scot Alex from Scotland won the Gold medal clocking 23.00 sec while Thomson Sheran from Trinidad & Tobago won the Bronze medal with 23.43.
Sri Lanka is represented by Kyle Abeysinghe, Akalanka Peiris, Vinoli Kaluarachchi and Dilrukshi Perera.
