Jaffna shooting: Two policemen wounded

unidentified gunman yesterday shot and wounded two policemen near Nallur Temple.

Military source told ‘The Sunday Island’ that the gunman has escaped after shooting at the policemen in the evening.

Sources said that one wounded policeman was in a critical condition.There had not been a similar incident since the conclusion of the conflict in May 2009, sources further said.

Sources added that the wounded men had been evacuated by the Jaffna judge who arrived at the scene soon after the shooting. (SF)
