Ten arrested in two brothels in Negombo

Nine women and a male suspect had been arrested by the Organised Crimes Prevention Division of the Police in two separate raids in Negombo on charges of operating brothels under the guise of Ayurvedic Spa.

The Police said five women and a manager were arrested in a Spa in Negombo yesterday, while another four women were arrested at another place.

The suspects were identified as residents of Panwila, Boralesgamuwa, Ja-Ela, Madampe, Nikaweratiya, Kaduwela, Ragama, Negombo and Kekirawa.

They would be produced in the Negombo Magistrate Court, the Police said.

    Cant the Police arrest the Mega thieves called our elected leaders who robbed the nation day in and day out! Can SL police throw at least one of them in jail just for one year !!!

    Unless these girls were caught in the act, along with proof that a payment was made for it, then there is no case. What happened was actions between two consenting adults.

  • These women should be rehabilitated as they get involved as their home front requesting to find immediate employment.
    Family disputes specially Father and mother resulten to leave homes.
    Police and connected Authorities should
    Meet together and looked in to this menace/
    which raises disasters to the Society.
